Thank you for taking the time to visit my new photography website. Just like the photographer it represents, it’s a work in progress. Thank you also for the honour of allowing me to share my art and creative journey with you - even if you’re just here briefly.

“As you grow older, you’ll find the only things you regret are the things you didn’t do.”—Zachary Scott

It recently occurred to me that the productive years I have ahead of me are likely to slip away in the same manner (and at the same speed) as the ones behind me. As I get closer to 60, I’m becoming more aware that my remaining time is comparatively short - in fact, way too short for me not to be doing the things I love; that I’m passionate about. I made the decision, at the age of 58, to become a Fine Art Photographer, with the aim of going full-time (well, as much as possible) by the end of 2025 (I’m 60 in Sept). It’s going to be an interesting, fulfilling, fun and frustrating challenge, I’m sure.

I’ll be sharing my journey here, as well as sharing images and the occasional back story on my darrenchristiephotography Facebook and Instagram pages. I’ll also be posting some photography trips, tips and reviews, plus some creative aging and photography & mental health content on my YouTube channel.

I’m very grateful to everyone who takes the time to browse through my gallery, purchase a print, read my blog posts or check out my socials. I look forward to hopefully hearing from you someday.

Regards, Daz

To me, photography is an art of observation. It’s about finding something interesting in an ordinary place…I’ve found it has little to do with the things you see and everything to do with the way you see them.

A great photograph is one that fully expresses what one feels, in the deepest sense, about what is being photographed.

To me, photography must suggest, not insist or explain.
